Atlas Building Company served as the general contractor for the 106,000-square-foot King Plastic Manufacturing Expansion in North Port, Florida. This large-scale industrial construction project expanded the company’s manufacturing capabilities through the construction of a new tilt-wall facility designed to support continued operational growth and increased production capacity. The project showcases Atlas’ expertise in industrial construction, tilt-wall buildings, and complex manufacturing facility development.
The new facility features 24-foot-high concrete tilt-wall panels, a structural steel framing system, and a standing seam metal roof designed to accommodate multiple overhead cranes critical to manufacturing operations. The building includes a 240-foot-long mezzanine system, conditioned interior spaces, secure document storage areas, and a robust 5,000-amp electrical service to support advanced industrial equipment and production processes.
In addition to the building expansion, the project included extensive site development improvements such as upgraded drainage infrastructure, retention ponds, additional parking, and site enhancements designed to improve both functionality and long-term operational performance. The successful completion of this manufacturing expansion demonstrates Atlas Building Company’s ability to deliver highly technical industrial facilities that meet the demanding requirements of modern manufacturing operations throughout Florida.
