Atlas focuses on construction of self-storage, car condos, municipal, industrial/light warehouse, office, retail and restaurant facilities. Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
Estimator must be able to work collaboratively with a preconstruction team on projects from $1M to $20M. They should be comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic and collaborative environment where the emphasis is placed on teamwork and satisfying our client’s needs.
Must have a proven background in vertical construction estimating and the ability to work on multiple on-going projects. Candidate should have strong attention to detail, communicate well, be self-motivated and well organized.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate budgets, estimates and proposals with the understanding of the constructability, means and methods, logistics, schedule, risk and profitability of each project.
- Meet with clients to discuss options for proposed services.
- Work in conjunction with preconstruction team to prepare accurate, well-organized estimates in a timely manner.
- Help manage bid organization, strategy, package preparation, proposal review, pricing and fee structure.
- Solicit, organize and validate subcontractors bid quotations.
- Ability to use quantity take-off software and Excel is required.
- Provide clear and detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for a project; including but not limited to, sitework, utilities, concrete, masonry, steel and all MEP system.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors, including prequalification.
- Assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation to client.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Possess in-depth knowledge of methods, materials and the tools involved in the construction of commercial projects.
- Computer literate Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, PROJECT), proficient with Procore software or ability to learn in a 3-month period following employment.
- Ability to read and interpret constructions documents (contracts, plans, specifications, schedules, etc.)
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess precise attention to detail.
- Ability to solve practical problems and exercise sound judgment.
- Be coachable and possess self-awareness
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively under deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of proper English usage/grammar, composition, spelling and punctuation.
- Ability to represent Atlas with external stake holders and at corporate events.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with managers, co-workers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, ability to use personal vehicle for Atlas business and ability to meet Atlas’s minimum insurance requirements.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of 3-years vertical commercial construction estimating experience (must supply a project list)
- B.S. in Construction Management or similar degree
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of proper English usage/grammar, composition, spelling and punctuation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, ability to use personal vehicle for Atlas business and ability to meet Atlas’s minimum insurance requirements.

Physical Demands:
· Ability to perform work at a construction jobsite, both indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes (high heat, high humidity, wet and cold temperatures) as well as in an office.
· Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands and arms overhead and forward, and sit.
· Ability to use fingers to operate a computer keyboard/mouse and other business machines as well as various construction tools.
· Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
· Ability to work in an environment that may contain dust, fumes, airborne particles and is usually loud.
