Atlas Building Company completed the site development and ground-up construction of a 104,877-square-foot, three-story climate-controlled self-storage facility in Sarasota, Florida. The 35-foot-tall facility features 819 self-storage units in a variety of sizes, providing secure and convenient storage solutions for residents and businesses throughout the Sarasota market.
As the general contractor, Atlas managed all aspects of site development and construction, including imported fill to achieve required site elevations, utility infrastructure, landscaping, paving, sidewalks, monument signage, and the installation of a new covered bus stop shelter. The project also required a directional bore beneath Cattlemen Road to provide new water service to the site.
Constructed using a pre-engineered metal building system, the facility is fully climate-controlled and protected by a comprehensive fire sprinkler system. Forty-nine units offer direct exterior access, while the remaining interior units are served by two elevator towers adjacent to the finished leasing office. The facility also incorporates advanced security features, including fire alarm monitoring, controlled access entry, CCTV surveillance, and a fully integrated security system to provide a safe and secure environment for tenants.
